comedians are human too

i saw a few comedians speak on the tv for the last couple of days. set aside the normal goofiness, they talked and acted like any ordinary human being. which was unusual to me.

jim carrey was on oprah talking about his latest movie, majestic. i saw the repeat telecast of mike myers interview on the actors studio. last saturday, i watched robin williams chat with jay leno in the tonight show.

it was different this time round. considering i view them as people who are always perky. i classified them as happy people, making people happy.

i picture jim carrey as the rubber-faced clown who i adored since i was a young girl. watching him in the mask, both ace ventura movies, cable guy, liar liar assured that he was my favourite actor. i watched almost all his movies until recently. i lost interest. i realised i was wrong to judge him like that after watching him on mtv when they did a diary on his life. i cried.

as for mike myers, he was the cool guy from wayne's world and the evil but hilarious bald doctor evil and the disgusting fat bastard. i watch with amazement as he pulls of his crazy antics at the audience in the mtv awards. he was normal to me when i saw him talking during the time he answered the audience questions. he was serious and he looked sad.

robin williams to me, is the most funniest guy in the whole world. the silly mork appeals to me. maybe because i can relate to the weirdness and the differentness. plus, he did a great job in patch adams and bicentennial man. he managed to put across comedy and also a mixture of sadness, happiness to make the movie serious yet it appears lightweight to the audience. he's not fully normal to me yet though.
